Set Up Pardot Prospect Tracking
With Dynamic Content

Each time a Pardot prospect lands on a page on your website that is running the Qualified javascript snippet, we look up the prospect’s data so your sales team can see which Pardot prospect is on your site. Also, when we notice a Pardot prospect on your site, our Qualification engine will run in real-time, and can qualify visitors with prospect data like score and grade. To accomplish this we use Pardot's dynamic content feature.

In this guide you'll learn how to set up Pardot prospect tracking by creating Pardot Dynamic Content:

  1. Create and name the Dynamic Content in Pardot
  2. Paste the Qualified Dynamic Content block into Pardot
  3. Save the Dynamic Content in Pardot
  4. Verify that the Dynamic Content is successfully set up

1) Create the Dynamic Content in Pardot

First, navigate over to Pardot to create a Pardot Dynamic Content snippet. You will find the configuration to create a snippet of Pardot Dynamic Content under Pardot > Marketing > Content > Dynamic Content. Next, select "Add Dynamic Content" by clicking on the big blue button. It should look like this:

Navigate to Pardot to Add Dynamic Content
Navigate to Pardot to Add Dynamic Content

This brings you to the Pardot screen to name your dynamic content. You can name your Pardot Dynamic Content anything you wish, but we suggest choosing a name that will make it clear to other Pardot Admins what this is being used for. We suggest a name such as "Qualified for Pardot - Dynamic Content" and you can save it in any Pardot folder you so choose and tag it as you wish, as shown here:

Name it "Qualified for Pardot - Dynamic Content"
Name it "Qualified for Pardot - Dynamic Content"

2) Paste In the Qualified Dynamic Content Block

Next select the "Default Content" which is the content that is shown to the viewer when no variations match. Don't worry about this because we're not going to have any variations for this integration, so go ahead and select the box to add your Default Content, you'll see an overlay that looks like the image below, where you'll enter in the Dynamic Content to be used by the Qualified application. It should read *QUALIFIED*%%email%%*QUALIFIED* as shown below:

Enter the Dynamic Content to be used by Qualified
Enter the Dynamic Content to be used by Qualified

3) Save the Dynamic Content in Pardot

Now click "Save" and you'll be brought back to the Pardot Dynamic Content screen. Since we're not going to use this content differently with any variations, you can safely remove the Variation A which is defaulted on.

Just click the red "remove variation" link to remove the variation and your screen will look like that below:

Save your Pardot Dynamic Content
Save your Pardot Dynamic Content

Finally, click Save and you'll see that you have a new Pardot Dynamic Content created! Wow, that was easy, but slightly confusing if you're not a Pardot power user. Rest assured, you've just done all of the hard work to make the Qualified application now able to magically read all of your prospect information and respond accordingly to any inbound Pardot prospect!

4) Verify that the Dynamic Content Is Successfully Set Up

OK, so you've got the Pardot Dynamic Content record created and now it's time to verify that the Qualified application can read it and that the integration is set up and ready to go. Head back to Qualified > Admin Settings > Integrations > Pardot and click on the button that is labeled "Verify prospect tracking"

Verify that Qualified can read your Pardot Dynamic Content
