Qualified helps identify who’s on your website, and you can use that information when visitors leave your site. When your Experience includes a hyperlink, append URL parameters that automatically pull in the visitor’s information. By inserting Qualified data, you can harness the power of URL parameters in other tools like Chili Piper Form Concierge.
Appending Custom URL Parameters
Your Experiences can be personalized for each visitor with dynamic variable tags. As visitors interact with the Qualified messenger, you could display their unique company name or location. Insert these same variable tags into query parameters to create custom links. When visitors click that URL, it will include the Qualified values in the link, which can be leveraged for tracking or other purposes.
To populate URL parameter values with your collected Qualified visitor data:
- When logged in as a Qualified admin, click the Settings icon.
- Click Experiences.
- Click on the existing Experience you want to update or create a new one.
- Click the + icon where you want to present a link to visitors.
- Click Send a message to add a new step.
- Within the Message field, enter your text including the URL with parameters.
- Create a hyperlink with this markdown syntax format:
[readable text here](https://www.yourwebsite.com/?query_parameter_ID=)
- Place your cursor after the URL parameter and click the Variable Tag icon:
- Select a data source from the list that appears and, if required for your scenario, a fallback. Click Done:
Your selected variable will now appear in the URL with this syntax:{{expression}}
- Finish editing your Experience and click Save.
Information passed by Qualified will be publicly available in the URL. Be careful to not include personally identifiable information or internal data that shouldn't be shared externally in your URL parameters.
We recommend connecting with your Qualified Success Architect, your trusted partner, for set-up and troubleshooting guidance. If your link’s parameters don’t populate correctly, review your variable tag syntax. If the field you want to be inserted as a parameter value isn’t listed there, then verify your visitor field mapping.
Leveraging Custom Links From Qualified in Other Systems
UTM and URL parameters are invaluable for identifying website visitors, search terms, campaigns, and link types.
Using Qualified with Chili Piper Form Concierge
With this technique, you could present a Chili Piper booking link during a Qualified Experience. The Qualified dynamic variable tags add visitor details to the URL parameters and then you can pull those URL parameter values into your Chili Piper Form Concierge. By prefilling the form, visitors are more likely to submit it and, in turn, schedule a meeting with your sales team.
Chili Piper is an alternative to the Qualified meeting booker. We recommend using the Qualified meeting booker because it seamlessly schedules appointments between website visitors and your reps, coordinates calendars, sends a meeting URL to all participants, and all data is available via Qualified and Salesforce reporting.
To present a Chili Piper booking link with pre-populated fields:
- Create a Concierge Inbound Router in Chili Piper named “Qualified Router.”
- Add the ChiliPiper.getQuery script to the landing page on your site that will host the Chili Piper Form Concierge. When installing the JavaScript, insert your unique “account-name” and “router-name.” (Your “account-name” is your Chili Piper account name and the “router-name” is found in your Concierge’s Inbound Router settings.)
- Add parameters to your Chili Piper booking link. The label for each URL parameter field needs to match the form’s corresponding textbox ID attribute. To find the exact ID, open your landing page, right-click over a form textbox, and select Inspect.
- Within Qualified, follow the steps above to add a Send a message Experience step that includes your newly customized Chili Piper booking link and Qualified variable tags. Be sure to enter fallback text as needed to account for blank visitor fields:
When a visitor reaches the message step with the variable URL, they will receive a link that they can click. This link will redirect to your Chili Piper landing page and have the values appended from the Qualified Visitor 360.
Creative Use Cases
These procedures can be leveraged in a variety of other use cases where data needs to be passed to a connected system and that system is able to accept URL parameters. Employ this technique to pass information to marketing automation platforms, event platforms, analytics tools, and more.
