The challenge: Inbound at capacity

With a strictly inbound engine and a lean SDR team, Crunchbase needed a smarter, more scalable way to capture and qualify site traffic. “We were relying on a legacy basic chatbot solution and human SDRs to handle live conversations,” said Maggie Foster, Growth Marketing Manager at Crunchbase. “But we ran into three big issues: integration problems, marketing strain, and SDR bandwidth.”

First, Crunchbase struggled with data accuracy. Their former vendor’s Salesforce integration created routing issues, leading to lost leads and missed meetings. Second, maintaining and building rules-based chat flows drained the marketing team. “We knew that an AI-powered experience could remove that burden entirely,” said Maggie.
