For starters, what is PiperX?
When Qualified first introduced Piper in April 2024, she was the world’s first AI SDR agent designed to convert high-intent, bottom-of-funnel buyers into pipeline. Since then, Piper has evolved into something much more powerful: an AI SDR superagent.
With the release of PiperX, Piper the AI SDR Agent now brings four big advancements to the table:
- NEW! Multi-modal functionality: Piper can meet with buyers on the website in real time through text, voice, and video.
- NEW! Multi-stage management: Piper can work your entire marketing funnel to capture new leads, nurture warm leads, and convert hot leads.
- Multi-channel engagements: Piper works across channels, bridging the gap between the website and email inbox.
- NEW! Multi-agent infrastructure: Piper has a robust set of built-in actions she can harness based on ever-changing variables.
With that foundation in place, let’s tackle the most common questions we’ve been hearing about PiperX.
Avatars, personas & customization
Is PiperX based on a Qualified employee?
You might recognize PiperX’s look! We based PiperX on our original all-star SDR, Blake. Check out more of her story here.
Why does PiperX look so different from the original Piper?
PiperX’s evolved look gives website visitors a more human-like experience. You can learn more about the history behind who PiperX resembles here.
Can we customize our avatars?
PiperX will launch with out of the box personas to choose from. Keep an eye out for more details soon!
What level of control do we have to customize the look of PiperX? Can we create a different AI persona by uploading a new image?
Yes, you will be able to personalize your AI SDR. PiperX comes with out-of-the-box personas today, and the ability to create a custom persona, for example, modeled after one of your employees, will be available soon.
Can PiperX customize her accent or persona based on a visitor’s country or location?
Not today, but our product team is actively exploring it.
Product capabilities & GTM Fit
Can PiperX have live video conversations with visitors?
Yes. PiperX supports live video chats, giving visitors the option to connect face-to-face if they choose.
Can I use voice without video?
Yes. You can configure PiperX however you like. Run voice and video together, or just voice on its own.
Can PiperX work in voice-only or text-only mode?
Yes, PiperX is fully multi-modal. Use text, voice, or video as you wish. You can use PiperX without the video, it can be in voice mode only, or text mode only as well.
Is PiperX a new, separate SKU, or is it part of the existing Qualified platform?
Some of both. Certain PiperX features (like multi-modal) will come as a separate SKU, while plenty of the new functionality is already included in the Qualified platform you know today.
Does PiperX only work with inbound, or does she go outbound?
PiperX is designed to accelerate inbound motion, engaging and converting buyers at scale across the website and email.
Is PiperX more for PLG or traditional sales-led GTM models?
Both! We have customers using PiperX for traditional sales-led motions, but also customers like Klaviyo (who you'll be hearing from soon!) who are using PiperX to maximize their PLG motion.
Does PiperX only work with voice on the site, or can it integrate with IVRs?
Right now, PiperX works with voice directly on your site. IVR integration isn’t supported yet.
Can PiperX cover a territory after hours and hand it back to SDRs during the day?
Yes. PiperX can manage leads during off hours and then pass them back to your SDRs once business hours resume. Many teams start with PiperX in exactly this way.
How does PiperX identify accounts on the website if they haven’t been cookied?
We use a mix of methods including ABM reverse API lookups and CRM account matching to recognize visitors even without cookies.
Can PiperX be leveraged within our routing logic?
Yes. PiperX understands your existing routing rules and uses them to connect buyers with the right rep, acting as a natural extension of your GTM processes.
Can we control who gets to interact with PiperX?
Yes. You can set rules around who PiperX engages with, and she’ll run through your qualifying questions just like a human SDR would.
Will PiperX know if an AE is already working a lead?
Yes. PiperX is aware of which reps are managing existing leads or contacts and uses that context in her conversations.
Can PiperX generate reports within Qualified for custom metrics?
Not today, but it’s a topic we’re actively discussing, so stay tuned for future updates around analytics.
Can we show videos instead of PiperX’s AI avatar in the chat?
Yes. With PiperX’s multi-modal setup, you decide the experience: text, voice, video, or a mix. It’s fully customizable based on your business needs and audience.
How many languages does PiperX support?
PiperX can operate in 16+ languages and seamlessly respond to buyers in their preferred language.
Is the onboarding and training process the same as the current text version?
It’s similar, but with a few extra steps like uploading any sales materials you’d like PiperX to present in conversations.
Does the AI Studio “scorecard” still work the same way with PiperX?
Yes, the scorecard in AI Studio works just as it does today. You can review responses and create improved versions anytime PiperX’s reply isn’t ideal.
If someone switches from text to voice, will PiperX repeat the question?
PiperX picks up right where the conversation left off in text and continues seamlessly in voice.

Launch & availability
When is PiperX launching for customers?
PiperX will be available to customers later this year, and multi-modal features are coming in Q3.
Will PiperX be available for Microsoft Teams?
PiperX supports Slack today. Microsoft Teams is being explored, but not confirmed yet.
Is Slack the main way reps communicate with PiperX?
Yes. Reps can primarily communicate with PiperX through Slack.
Does PiperX work with HubSpot, or only Salesforce?
Salesforce CRM is required. That said, Qualified also integrates with HubSpot Marketing Hub if that’s your marketing automation platform.
Do I need a ZoomInfo account for PiperX to pull data, or is that included?
No ZoomInfo account required. PiperX connects directly with Salesforce CRM (the only required integration) and can tap into your full go-to-market stack from sales engagement to ABM to make the most of your GTM data.
Is PiperX included in our current contract, or is there an additional cost?
There will be an added cost for portions of PiperX, like multi-modal, and many features you will see are included with the existing Qualified platform.

Visitor & prospect experience
Can we cap the number of messages PiperX sends so she doesn’t overwhelm visitors?
Yes. You can configure PiperX’s persistence and control how often she reaches out during a conversation.
Can a prospect choose not to interact with PiperX?
Yes, prospects are always in control. If someone doesn’t want to engage, they can simply choose not to.
Can we prevent PiperX from engaging with certain leads, like ones already managed by an AE?
Yes. You can set rules so PiperX only engages with the leads you assign her to, ensuring she never oversteps on AE-owned relationships.
Is the “Book Meeting” button only visible after a visitor is qualified?
The button is always visible, but visitors can’t actually book until they’ve completed the required qualification questions. PiperX qualifies visitors first and only offers to book meetings with high-propensity buyers that fit your ideal customer profile. That way, your team spends time with the right leads, not everyone who stops by.
Can we instruct PiperX not to engage with a specific prospect?
Yes, you can provide instructions on how to handle specific visitors, for example, asking her to monitor but not engage with a prospect that’s already in negotiation.
Has Qualified tested how different segments respond to video vs. other formats?
You’ll have full visibility into conversations by topic and sentiment, so you can see what resonates best with your audiences and adjust accordingly.
Does PiperX screen share, or just guide people through the website?
Both. If the content lives on your site, PiperX can walk you through it directly. She can also use a pre-set deck of slides just like a human rep would.
Are interactions recorded?
Transcripts of conversations are stored just like chat. No audio or video is stored beyond that.
How much of each interaction is captured, and can it be used in future visits?
All of it. PiperX keeps track of every interaction within Qualified and uses that context to personalize future conversations and follow-ups.
What happens if PiperX doesn’t know the answer to a question?
PiperX can be configured to loop in a live rep whenever you want. You control the workflow so handoffs happen exactly the way you prefer.
Lead qualification & objection handling
Can PiperX ask and interpret qualifying questions?
Yes. PiperX can handle all of your qualifying questions, just like a human SDR would, and she uses the answers to guide next steps.
Can PiperX qualify leads in real time and decide whether to pass them to sales or keep nurturing?
Yes. You can set the rules, and PiperX will use them to nurture early-stage leads while also spotting the signals that show someone is sales-ready, and then hand them off to your reps in real time.
How does PiperX handle objections or people trying to “break” her?
PiperX is trained to handle objections the same way you’d train a top SDR. She will be on-message and have guardrails, so she knows how to bring the conversation back to the goals at-hand. She knows to always be professional and friendly, and you can tune her tone as you'd like. The more you continue to train her, the better she gets over time.
Compliance & privacy
How does PiperX handle privacy policies, cookie consent, and GDPR compliance?
PiperX is fully GDPR compliant. You can customize and display your own privacy policy and consent messaging for every interaction, so buyers always know exactly what they’re opting into.
Does PiperX’s “AI SDR Agent” signature relate to GDPR compliance? Do emails have to disclose they’re from AI?
Not necessarily. PiperX can send emails as “AI SDR Agent” or on behalf of your reps. In our demos, we show the AI SDR Agent signature to make it clear the message is coming from PiperX but disclosure is optional, and not a GDPR requirement.
Will all emails be signed as “Your AI SDR Agent”?
Not at all. Emails can come from “Piper the AI SDR Agent”, or you can have them dynamically send on behalf of your team. For example, target accounts can receive emails from their assigned sales rep.
How does PiperX handle inappropriate conversations or trolls?
We’re building in moderation tools so PiperX can automatically detect when a conversation turns inappropriate and end the conversation.
Can PiperX’s emails be white-labeled?
Yes. Emails are sent through your own email provider, so they come directly from your domain.
Integrations & data
Can PiperX check multiple internal calendars before booking a meeting?
Yes. That’s built into her scheduling flow. PiperX looks across all the relevant calendars to find the best time when multiple teammates are needed.
If we upload documentation that isn’t public, can we control what PiperX shares externally?
Yes. PiperX can use uploaded content for context, but she won’t surface or link to non-public docs in conversations.
Can PiperX check recent company updates or CRM history when tailoring follow-ups?
Yes. PiperX taps into all of your GTM data and updates her approach in real time. For example, if someone visits your pricing page or fills out a form, PiperX instantly adjusts her follow-up plan.
Can analytics be exported, or do we have to copy and paste data out of Qualified?
You don’t have to copy and paste. Conversation transcripts can be written directly into connected systems like Salesforce, and APIs for broader data extraction are on the way.
